Junior year (11th grade) is often spoken of in almost sacred terms with respect to its role in college admission. And while yes, it is important, the year should be considered in the context of the two years that preceded it and the year that will follow. During junior year, students should be continuing the hard work they’ve put in so far. Colleges will want to see students who continue to challenge themselves academically and outside the classroom. The name of the game is progress! Students who have had a blip or two in their first two years of school should see junior year as a great time to regain their footing and show everyone they’ve matured. Students who have performed solidly should challenge themselves to perform at the next level, whatever it may be.
