What are your main duties and responsibilities at Testive?

Being Co-Founder is as vague and wonderful as it sounds. I get to spend my days doing whatever the company needs to help students learn better.

What’s your favorite part about working at Testive?

The best part of being the co-founder of a company is that you get to decide to only work with people you respect and like.

When you’re not working, what do you like to do?

My biggest hobby is smoking foods. I have a backyard smoker and spend many a weekend tending it.

What’s your favorite food?

My proudest food is my own smoked salmon. My favorite comfort food is a bagel toasted a little too brown with lots of butter.

What’s your favorite movie and why?

The Muppet Movie. If a frog, a bear, a pig, a couple chickens, Animal, and whatever Gonzo is can make their dreams come true, than anyone can.

If you had to choose a song that best summarized your personality what would it be?

“My Back Pages” by Bob Dylan for my favorite lyric: “I was so much older than that then, I’m younger than that now.” I was a very young man.

What quote do you try to live your life by?

“Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.” ~ Theodore Roosevelt

Of course, trying to live by that and succeeding are two different things.

Are you a cat or a dog person?

Neither. Babies. I love babies.

Mac or PC?

Android

If you had one piece of advice to give college-bound students, what would it be?

Success doesn’t really come in single moments, like SAT tests or college acceptance letters. It comes from the late nights, the long hours of sticking at things you aren’t good at until you become good at them. Those moments of public success are really just the rewards for the long, boring moments often spent alone.
